Meet Mimi’s Shoppe

Hi! I’m Aimee, the hands, heart, yarn, caffeine, and occasional chaos behind Mimi’s Shoppe.

I’ve been crafting for about 40 years and crocheting for more than 30. I’ve tried just about every craft you can imagine, but crochet has always been my first love. There’s something special about taking a simple ball of yarn and turning it into something that can make someone smile.

Mimi’s Shoppe is a little different because I don’t believe everything has to be serious or perfectly match. My personality is all over my creations—colorful, sarcastic, a little sassy, sometimes completely ridiculous, and always made with love. I create everything from cute and cozy pieces to retro 80s and 90s designs, spooky and horror-inspired items, faith-based creations, seasonal favorites, and those things that simply make you say, “Okay, I NEED that!”

Life is also a huge part of why I create. I’ve dealt with illness and obstacles throughout my life, and I’ve had to fight pretty hard to get where I am today. Crafting has been there through so many chapters of my life. It has given me a creative outlet, a purpose, and a way to turn difficult days into something positive.

My parents, who I miss dearly, are a huge part of my “why,” along with my family and the people I love. They remind me that life is short, so if something brings you happiness—even if it’s a sarcastic cup or a ridiculous crocheted creation—you should enjoy it.

That’s also why I love mystery boxes so much. I get to learn a little about the person receiving one and put together something that feels like them. Opening a box should feel like getting a present, even when you bought it for yourself.

When you shop with Mimi’s Shoppe, you aren’t ordering from a big company. You’re supporting a real person sitting behind a pile of yarn and craft supplies, probably talking to herself while creating your order.

What Makes Your Mystery Experience Special?

Shopping with Mimi’s Shoppe is personal! I don’t believe a mystery box should just be a bunch of random items tossed together. I want opening your box to feel like Christmas morning—even if you ordered it for yourself.

I create each mystery around the person receiving it. Customers can choose a theme and tell me about their favorite colors, characters, hobbies, style, likes, and dislikes, and then I take it from there. You’ll know some of the types of goodies you may receive, but the fun is not knowing exactly what I’ve chosen for you.

Because I’m both a crocheter and a crafter, my boxes can include a mixture of handmade and customized items, such as crochet creations, tumblers, shirts, tote bags, accessories, stationery, treats, and other surprises. No two boxes have to be exactly alike.

I also love getting to know my customers. You’re not just an order number at Mimi’s Shoppe. I talk with you, listen to your ideas, and genuinely get excited about creating something that fits your personality.

My boxes can be cute, spooky, sarcastic, retro, faith-based, seasonal, completely ridiculous—or a little bit of everything.
